The Information Technology Office (ITO) provides planning and development services for the control of data processing in the public sector, develops and maintains computer facilities and provides the necessary computer equipment to support the needs of Bermuda Government departments and agencies.

The ITO is a service organization that assists departments with developing new and maintaining existing Information Technology Systems. This includes:

  • planning and managing Information Technology development projects;
  • procuring, installing and maintaining computer and network hardware and software; 
  • training on Information Systems.

The ITO sponsors planning activities and prepares the computer system budget to address the needs, to the extent possible, of all Departments with the exception of computers used for instructional purposes within the schools and by some Quangos. The ITO is responsible for controlling the investment in Information Technology.

Cabling

The Information Technology Office (ITO) of the Government of Bermuda is seeking proposals regarding the installation and maintenance of a Category 6 structured cabling infrastructure for the construction of a new hospital building.

The Government of Bermuda, MINISTRY OF JUSTICE will be implementing and maintaining an Electronic Monitoring Programme that tracks and monitors offenders throughout the island. The successful Vendor will provide a dynamic state-of-the-art programme that will form the backbone for the enhanced monitoring and behaviour change of offenders in two Phases – namely Pre-trail Monitoring and Post-trial Monitoring.
